Helpful Hints For Your Next Caulking Project

With a nickname such as "toolbox in a tube," you can quickly see that caulk can be a homeowner's best friend - it's cheap, it's easy to apply and it has a multitude of uses.

But once you choose the appropriate product for your project, there are many tips and tricks that you should know to make your project look like a professional did it.

Tubs & Surrounds Tips

  • Before installing a tub surround, measure twice, cut once.

  • Pre-fit all panels before applying adhesive.

  • When caulking around a bathtub, fill the tub full with water first. This simulates the weight of someone in the tub. A Tub may shift or sink slightly due to irregularities in the sub floor. By caulking the tub when full you are insuring that the caulk will completely fill the joint when it is experiencing the most movement.
