Helpful Hints For Your Next Caulking Project
With a nickname such as "toolbox in a tube," you can quickly see that caulk can be a homeowner's best friend - it's cheap, it's easy to apply and it has a multitude of uses.
But once you choose the appropriate product for your project, there are many tips and tricks that you should know to make your project look like a professional did it.
Storage Tips
Get the most for your money. Store all tubes of caulk and sealant in areas that are above 40°. Make sure all open tubes are closed to insure an airtight seal. Seal by placing a nail into the end of the nozzle and wrapping with plastic food wrap or even screwing on a plastic electrical connector.
Nozzle plugged up? Cut the nozzle slightly shorter than the previous cut. Screw in a drywall or wood screw into the end of the nozzle. Use the screw to pull out the hardened portion.
